I liked the post except for the part about things being in boxes. I agree that there is a greater likelihood that things in boxes contain preservatives, however, I think the more important message to impart would be for the potential consumer to READ the label of whatever boxed item that they are going for.
I state this because I know of plenty boxed item goods that are perfectly fine to eat including whole grain cereals, dried foods and not to mention the fact that boxes are actually biodegradable, so better for the Earth to re-ingest, lol.
Your are absolutely correct. We are not saying that it is the boxes themselves. But we all must be aware that all packaged goods; be it in boxes or cans can have unhealthy preservatives added to them for the products to stay fresh. Another note to think about: Do we really know the time span from when the product is processed and boxed, to how long it is stored before shipping, to when it reaches its destination, unpacked and placed on our grocery shelves? So just how much preservatives are truly being used in these foods to stay fresh from process to shelf? Something to think about!
